Adam Knight

National Operations Manager

Adam is highly experienced in the design and construction of maritime structures. After graduating with First Class Honours in 1994, Adam spent 13 years in the consulting engineering industry both in Australia and the UK. Adam joined Waterway Constructions in 2007 as a Senior Project Manager before being appointed NSW Manager and Regional Manager. As National Operations Manager, Adam is responsible for the delivery of all the company's projects.

Tony Matthews

Northern Region Operations Manager

Tony has a strong background in major project delivery of marine projects including the Oil & Gas Gorgon Jetty Project ($2 billion) and Port Botany Expansion ($520 million) in the last 7 years where he held senior construction management roles. Since joining Waterway in 2015, Tony has successfully delivered significant remediation projects for the Department of Defence across two Navy sites on Sydney Harbour. His role as Northern Region Operations Manager sees him providing support and management to the Operations team on projects as well as for facilitating the key client interaction and liaison.

Ben Hiley

Southern Region Operations Manager

Ben graduated with Honours in Bachelor of Construction Project Management and has been a long term member of the Waterway team, since 2005, having worked as an undergraduate at Waterway. He has held Project Engineer roles before moving into a Project Manager position and most recently promoted to Southern Region Operations Manager.

Ben has significant experience in delivering ferry transport structures and in particular has managed complex procurement of overseas fabricated and coated steel structures having delivered four ferry terminals with offshore fabrication. 

Ben has recently delivered a $20 million project involving the construction of three new ferry terminals on the Brisbane River.

Chris Hickey

Senior Project Manager | NSW

Chris holds a Bachelor of Building and worked for Barclay Mowlem Constructions and Transfield before joining Waterway Constructions in 2001. Chris is a Senior Project Manager and has been involved in all major projects in recent years including the Sydney Wharf redevelopment, the extension of Berth 105 East, Port Kembla, the BHP in-river sheet pile wall construction in Newcastle, APLNG MOF project in Gladstone and Berth 103 Port Kembla.

Tomas Rooney

Project Manager | NSW

Tomás graduated from the Limerick Institute of Technology, Ireland with Honours and holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. Since joining Waterway in 2010, Tomás has worked as the Project Manager on a range of Sydney Harbour Wharf Upgrades including Rose Bay, Neutral Bay, Balmain, Huntley’s Point, Cremorne Point, Drummoyne, Olympic Park and East Balmain wharves.

Bryn Griffiths

Project Engineer | VIC

Bryn graduated with a double degree in Civil Engineering and Bachelor of Business from the Swinburne University of Melbourne in 2004 before working with Theiss Services on a number of water infrastructure projects. Bryn joined Waterway Constructions in 2009 as project engineer on the Melbourne Main Sewer crossing of the Yarra River.

Dane Pettiford

Project Manager | NSW

Graduating with Honours in Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engingeering, Dane joined Waterway Construction in 2012 and has since held a variety of roles. Dane has extensive experience with marine construction engineering and management. He is currently the Project Manager for the Waterway Maintenance Division.

Andrew Blaikie

Project Manager | QLD

Andrew has 12 year's experience as a Site Engineer/ Project Manager in the construction industry, having completed his Bachelor of Engineering Co-Op (civil) in 2004.

Since joining Waterway in 2014, Andrew held the role of Project Manager for Berth 103 Redevelopment ($15m) at Port Kembla. Management of works included clutched tubular pile wall, tie rods, earthworks, sheet piling, ground water management and liaison with dredging contractor (Boskalis).

Rick Hay

Plant Manager

Rick has over 30 years' experience in plant maintenance and refurbishment and leads a team of fitters which maintain the Waterway fleet of equipment in a reliable and well presented condition.

Andy Craig

Project Manager | QLD

Andy has fifteen years engineering experience within the marine, civil, engineering & geotechnical fields. He has worked on major maritime infrastructure projects such as Port Botany Expansion (AUD$550 million), Cape Lambert Port B (AU$276 million), Amrun Project (AU$150 million) and several smaller jobs working in Project Management & Execution.

 

 

Toby Cuthbert-Ashmore

Project Manager | QLD

Toby has experience in a variety of roles on civil, industrial and resource industry construction projects.  He has been involved with performing site work, preparing detailed designs, actively working alongside contractors throughout the construction process and managing project teams, programmes and budgets.  

Rob Davis

Project Manager | NSW

Highly experienced in both onshore and offshore construction with heavy emphasis on piling techniques, Rob joined Waterway in 2018 with a strong background in Marine construction, including piling, concreting and grouting and steel structures, from floating plant and jack-up barges.
