Berth 103 Expansion, Port Kembla

The project extended Berth 103 by 108m allowing for the existing berthing channel to be extended by 60m. The extension provides ship access to the newly completed grain terminal and a supplementary heavy offloading facility to AAT.

Engineered modification to piling rig to permit 32m piles to be pitched and driven to depth;

Designed and developed suspended formwork to pour bulkhead beam over water;

In-house dewatering system designed and implemented;

Resolution of reinforcement design clashes incorporating the Clients design requirements whilst maximising buildability efficiency;

Successful coordination of works and management of sub-contractors between two adjacent sites within very restricted site boundaries, limited accesses and laydowns whilst achieving Contractual Practical Completion ahead of time.
