Under the guidance of foundation directors Jim Millar and Mal Hiley the company has grown from 10 staff to 180 staff with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Waterway Constructions Maintenance Pty Ltd was formed in 2001 to specialise in wharf maintenance activities in Sydney and in particular the term contract for maintaining ferry wharves on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services (previously NSW Maritime).

Waterway Constructions (VIC) Pty Ltd was formed in 2006 following the purchase of Skilled Maritime in Melbourne. Waterway Constructions (VIC) undertook the term contract for port maintenance on behalf of the Port of Melbourne Corporation as well as other construction works.

Sea Coatings Pty Ltd became part of the Waterway Construction Group of companies in 2006. Sea Coatings has over 30 years experience in marine pile and concrete repairs and is a leader in this field.
